Pulse State - Applied Sciences

Press Release
The latest album, The Science of Despair, was released in October 2012, and quickly became the flagship of Pulse State's musical repertoire. However, the story wasn't finished yet. Mike Phipps, the sole studio member behind Pulse State, has endured several events in his life in the time that has passed since The Science of Despair's release, including the dissolution of several friendships and opportunities, as well as the creation of several new ones. Mike believes that these events must be documented in any life, for they continually shape who we truly are.
It stands to reason, therefore, that the story that was told on The Science of Despair should be continued on a follow-up release, and on October 4th, 2013, nearly exactly one year since the release of its parent album, the Applied Sciences EP will be made available to fans and friends, both old and new. The familiar mix of synthpop, melodic EBM, and darkwave has been exploited to maximum effect on this collection of songs. Three alternate mixes from the album, four remixes by other artists (Level 2.0, Forced Intention, Die With You, and Masoschizm), and one unreleased track saved especially for this new EP - it all makes for a fitting coda to the parent album, clocking in at just over 46 minutes while doing it!
The Applied Sciences EP will appeal both to DJs and casual listeners, finding its way through homes and clubs alike. Life has its ups and downs; this new EP can be considered as a soundtrack for those times. Released exclusively on the Pulse State Bandcamp page.
