DWA has developed something of a reputation for discovering and investing in the best upcoming talent around – picking out and bringing to world attention the likes of SURGYN, TERROLOKAUST, CYGNOSIC and most recently THE .INVALID for example.
In recent weeks we announced new material from already-established acts like DIE SEKTOR, NITRO/NOISE and BLAKOPZ – time now for something completely fresh yet equally formidable…
Melbourne-based SIRUS is the cyberpunk brainchild of vocalist and producer Josh Rombout, ably assisted live by keyboard player Andrew Waugh, drummer Ryan and female vocalist Danielle.
Established in 2008, SIRUS self-released the album “Falling Through Dystopia” and later a free-download EP “Venomous Frequencies” (2011) while playing countless shows opening for the likes of COMBICHRIST, HOCICO, GRENDEL, AESTHETIC PERFECTION, GOD MODULE before finally coming to the attention of DWA via the recommendation of fellow Australian DWA artist Eugene Nesci (VPROJEKT).
“Broken Hearts Corporate Minds” is SIRUS official label debut, an 11-track audio assault encompassing an array of influences from dark musical subgenres fused into an industrial-strength album of devastating power and authority - mastered for DWA in Germany by Kolja Trelle/SOMAN.
Check out the instant club classics “No Mercy” or “The Monster I Am” – the latter available on the December edition of Zillo magazine’s CD as a foretaste of the album itself.
And check out those epic track lengths – averaging around 6 minutes each, “Broken Hearts Corporate Minds” weighs in at well over an hour of lush sounds, powerful programmed beats and innovative dark electronics.
The CD version comes with an additional 3 exclusive bonus tracks not found on the “standard” digital edition – formidable remixes from FGFC820, C-LEKKTOR and NITRO/NOISE – with the first 250 units presented in limited edition 4-panel digipak format.
Again, DWA presents to you our fans and followers a “newcomer” act that in terms of production-quality and musical innovation simply blows out of the water most material being released by far more established acts – and this is a band that unlike so many really does perform live, which indeed prides itself on transforming its tracks via hardware manipulation so that no 2 shows are ever the same.
Already immeasurably talented beyond their tender years, SIRUS are young, hungry and set surely to produce so much more in a saga of which “Broken Hearts Corporate Minds” is simply the beginning.
