Monolith - Near Crash EP

Press Release
The man behind Monolith, Eric Van Wonterghem is one of the most prolific and influential artists in Europe's Industrial rhythmic noise and EBM scene. Initially releasing electro synth music or what could even be called proto EBM music as "Absolute Body Control" with Dirk Ivens all the way back in 1981 in Belgium. Eric & Dirk a few years later would both go on to form one of Europe's most legendary EBM acts of all time "The Klinik" along with Marc Verhaegen and Sandy Nys.
Eric would depart Klinik after the second album and would form another well respected EBM project with Mario Vaerewijck called "Insekt" on legendary Belgian label KK Records. Enter the mid 90's , Eric would go on to start a new project entitled Monolith. This a departure from his EBM signature and heading into the industrial rhythmic noise territory but with a nice mixture of gritty techno. During the same period Eric would also team up again with Dirk for "Sonar" , another killer rhythmic noise act a bit harder then Monolith.
Into the early 2000's a very tight bond was formed between Eric and Sonic Groove's Adam X. Sonic Groove would highlight Monolith's cult classic rhythmic noise track, "Disco Buddah" on the various artists "Europa Power Electron Industries" EP back in 2004. With a big interest in industrial in the techno music scene in recent years it is more then fitting that Monolith finally debut's in the techno scene with a proper release on Sonic Groove.
