Venetian Snares - Traditional Synthesizer Music







Press Release
Traditional Synthesizer Music is a collection of songs created and performed live exclusively on the modular synthesizer by Aaron Funk. Each sound contained within was created purely with the modular synthesizer. No overdubbing or editing techniques were utilized in the recordings on Traditional Synthesizer Music. Each song was approached from the ground up and dismantled upon the completion of it's recording. The goal was to develop songs with interchangeable structures and sub structures, yet musically pleasing motifs. Many techniques were incorporated to "humanize" or vary the rhythmic results within these sub structures. An exercise in constructing surprises, patches interrupting each other to create unforeseen progressions. Multiple takes were recorded for each song resulting in vastly different versions of each piece.

Out on December 26th is the 3rd volume in the Side-Line powered charity compilation series "Face The Beat". "Face The Beat: Session 3" counts 63 tracks from electro / industrial / experimental bands based allover the world. They have one thing in common, they all are supporting our charity work, which this time will go to supporting O Allos Anthropos (A Different Person), a mobile kitchen in Greece, Athens which is supporting the poorest citizens there with daily warm meals.
"Face The Beat: Session 3" was compiled by Elise Din and Bernard Van Isacker and features lots of new talents, and several familiar 'faces', from the electro, wave, industrial, dubstep, dark folk scene who wanted to put their shoulders under the release. You'll find well known acts such as Kant Kino, IIOIOIOII, Essence Of Mind, Empusa, and many more next to a lot of new talents which caught our attention and which often haven't got a label contract or have just been signed recently.
The material was carefully mastered by Kenneth Fredstie (Kant Kino) for your best audio pleasure.
Here's a bit more info on O Allos Anthropos, the charity project we will be supporting this time. The people behind O Allos Anthropos don't just cook healthy meals for the poorest residents, they also sit together with those people in an effort to combat the shame of receiving a free cooked meal. Another purpose of this community kitchen is to distribute any left over funds to the unemployed people who help them on a daily basis. We came aware of their work when being in Greece last year and seeing the tremendous work they have been doing, we decided to help them out.
Being in the middle of the Christmas and New Year's festivities we count on you to be generous with your donations - it's no obligation of course, but you'll make sure that other people will be able enjoying a decent meal with what you donate. When I finished Industrial Music a few months ago I thought it would be interesting if I asked someone else to put together a remix album for me, having them pick who would specifically remix each track. I asked Bruce and Alex from the I DIE: YOU DIE website to curate it because I always appreciated their tastes: sometimes "mainstream Our Thing", sometimes more eclectic Our Thing. It was their idea to do a track-by-track version of the album, which I haven't seen done in quite some time. They brainstormed a list of artists that they'd like to see tackle specific tracks and sent it to me, then I reached out to the artists to beg the favor.
Honestly, many of these artists I either didn't know personally, or had only heard (of) them through places like ID:YD. I've been ecstatic with the results from each of them and thank them profusely for joining in on the album. Massive thanks to Alex and Bruce for indulging me in my good bad ideas, too. I hope you enjoy Industrial Remixes as much as we do and become a fan of a few other artists because of it.
Thanks for checking this out. Spread the word if you could, as this stuff is underground for a reason. Let's keep it there.

The leaders of the techno industrial music movement in Brazil are ready to strike back again with an extended new EP release: “Cold Is Clean” on which AESTHETISCHE (ex-AGHAST VIEW cult EBM act) feature stunning collaborations with some well-known scene singers and activists.
The duo keeps the throttle in full pace mode presenting to us five new tracks, engineered to stomp club floors worldwide. In this new release the band relies yet again on the wonderful collaborations with singers Xev from DIFFUZION on an all-new rework of the classic track, “Touch the Cold Glass”, in a 2015 revamped version re-named as, “Cold Glass – 2015 rework”. But also with Mari Kattman, another AESTHETISCHE favorite partner and well known singer in the electronic scene, who imprints her beautiful voice on two versions of a completely new track – “Blue Print”, re-built by AESTHETISCHE in a club-oriented original version and as a more chilled-out oceanic mix, both fully loaded with the band’s trademark of blended electronics (powered with EBM and Trance elements). “Unity” is another instrumental piece delivering a 138 bpm assault on the boom – boxes, while combining hard beats and melodies.

LAURAPALMER is the new “obscure-techno” project by the italian artist Tiff Lion.
She has already shaped a successful career with Tying Tiffany. Five top-seller albums, lot of singles & videoclips and played hundred of shows and festivals in Italy, Europe and America.
Tiff also joined the producer and composer Lorenzo Montanà to work with T.T.L. (Through The Lens) and create instrumental music for soundtracks and trailers. Their song “Deep Shadow” was featured in The Hunger Games movie trailer.
Now, she is getting focused into LAURAPALMER and have finished her debut 12” with 3 tracks influenced by old-school techno from KK Records (Psychick Warriors Ov Gaia, Kode IV, Zen Para dox), early Plastikman and a touch of pure industrial.

David Carretta - Two Decades: A Retrospective

David started making music at the end of the eighties with an ultra confidential project called Art Kinder Industrie, based in Marseille. He was the first artist to sign on the german label International Deejay Gigolo owned by DJ Hell with the maxi "Boing Bum Tschag/ Innerwood" released in 1996.
He is one of the most influencial electro french artist in the world and a pioneer of the Techno scene as soon as 1994 with a maxi released on Harthouse, Sven Vath 's mythical label. His music is characterized by an analog techno sound backed up by retro-futuristic synthesizers that take their roots as much in Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb 's EBM as in Giorgio Moroder or Bobby Orlando's disco basslines .
After having released three albums ensenced by both audiences and critics, more than a dozen EPs full of dancefloor anthems, more than fifty remixes, and having inspired DJ Hell to create International Deejay Gigolo 20 years ago, David Carretta is one of the founders of the Electro Clash movement in 1999 with his album « Catalogue Électronique » that will start an international wave from which he is the spiritual godfather.
Following the incredible success of his productions for the label Gigolo, David has been having an internatioal career spreading his Techno/ New Beat / EBM / Italo Disco in the biggest clubs and festivals around the world. He founds his own label Space Factory in 2003 on which he releases his ultimate album, the very cosmic « Rodeo Disco » in 2008. Then in 2011 he joins the label Zone, founded by The Hacker and Gesaffelstein, on which he signs two fantastic EPs : « Crash » ( with Workerpoor) and « Land Of Sin », a cold, surgical, industrial techno without any concessions.
Unknown Pleasures Records is happy to welcome in his team this essential character of the Electronic scene to celebrate his twenty years of career with the release of a compilation CD soberly called « Two Decades: A Retrospective » which includes the artist's best titles in "radio edit" format as well as a new unreleased track.

Featuring guest vocals by Claus Larsen AE of Leaether Strip and Jan L. of X-FUSION. Also on the single disc are two remixes by Ruinizer and X-Fusion. "Perpetual Adversity" also comes as a limited 2-disc set with a second disc featuring 14 brand new killer remixes from artists as Alien Vampires, Cold Therapy, Nano Infect, Stahlnebel & Black Selket, Sin DNA, Bleeding Corp and more....
Band says: „Perpetual Adversity is about our daily struggles with life. The oppression and violence brought about by religion and the wealthy constantly rubbing our noses in their shit. We are born to suffer the fates brought upon us by life and we are not happy about it.
