WHAT IS THE ‘ITALIAN BODY MUSIC’ PROJECT?
The IBM Project is born from the common interest and dedication of Alberto Brandi (Dj Nox/ one of south Italy’s prime-mover EBM/Industrial DJs) and Luca Anselmi (founder and administrator of one of Italy’s major EBM-Industrial-Electro forum/webzines
www.electroworld.tk/ ) for the musical macrocosm related to the dark and alternative electronic music.
We both have always liked to relate to this scene we love in an active way. Alberto as a Dj and event-organizer, Luca as restless manager of a very alive forum, than transformed into a webzine, and then into an engine spreading to club-parties and who knows what more holds the future. So, being conscious of how many valid bands exist in Italy, we thought to actively promote these guys through a free compilation.
And here it is ‘Italian Body Music’: the state of art of today’s Italian electronic scene.
Far from being comprehensive, it’s just a start. There are surely many other deserving bands out there ready to be featured on our next initiative, so may this work also as a drone, ready to attract the best Italian EBM-Electro-Industrial stars to Nox and Electroworld’s solar system!
The future can hold very interesting things to come, stay tuned.
This is just the first volume…so you are warned!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The ‘IBM’ project wants especially to work as a way to actively promote the Italian scene, very articulate and various in its manifestations, ranging from 80’s related synth-pop to the new ways of 2000 Electronic Body Music, arriving to interesting mingling between metal sounds and electronic impressions.
‘Italian Body Music’ can be interpreted as a manifesto of the EBM-Electro made in Italy, somehow a confutation of the Italian xenophile complex, presenting some of the most promising and interesting acts from our Peninsula.
This is not meant only for the hardcore-fans of the genre, but (mostly!) to the newcomers, in Italy and abroad.
In this spirit, the compilation presents tracks from already internationally-accomplished bands as Syrian, XP8, Blank, Dope Stars Inc. etc., as well as young and promising acts that truly deserve to be listened, appreciated and supported through purchasing their records, merchandising and making the hell break loose at their concerts.
‘Italian Body Music Vol.1’ will also contain unreleased and exclusive tracks, this is the final tracklisting:

CHE COS’È IL PROGETTO ‘ITALIAN BODY MUSIC’?
Il Progetto-IBM è nato dall’interesse e dalla dedizione comune di Alberto Brandi (Dj Nox, uno dei Dj EBM-Industrial ‘prime-movers’ nel sud Italia) e di Luca Anselmi (fondatore e gestore di uno dei principali siti-forum-webzine sull’EBM-Industrial.Electro,
www.electroworld.tk/ ) per il macrocosmo musicale relativo alla musica elettronica oscura e alternativa.
Entrambi abbiano sempre voluto confrontarci in maniera attiva a questa scena, che amiamo: Alberto come Dj e organizzatore di eventi, Luca come instancabile gestore di un forum attivissimo, che da tale si è trasformato in una webzine e poi in un motore inarrestabile, organizzatore di eventi nei club, ecc. Quindi, coscienti della gran quantità di band valide esistenti in Italia, abbiamo pensato di promuovere attivamente questi ragazzi attraverso una compilation a distribuzione gratuita.
Ecco quindi ‘Italian Body Music’: lo stato dell’arte della scena elettronica italiana odierna. Tutto ciò, lungi dall’essere definitivo, è appena un inizio.
Vi sono sicuramente altre band meritevoli che sono lì fuori, e saranno sicuramente incluse nelle nostre prossime iniziative. In questo caso questa compilation fungerà da sonda attrattrice delle migliori stelle dell’EBM-Electro-Industrial made in Italy verso il sistema solare di Nox e di Electroworld!
Il futuro ci riserba cose interessanti, quindi restate in ascolto.
Questo è solo il primo volume, siete avvertiti!
COME SI ARTICOLA?
Il progetto IBM intende anche illustrare la complessità di una scena musicale molto articolata e dalle numerose sfaccettature, che parte dal synth-pop anni ’80, passa per le nuove strade dell’Electronic Body Music del 2000, per giungere fino a interessanti commistioni tra suoni classicamente metal a suggestioni elettroniche.
“Italian Body Music” può essere interpretata come un manifesto del microcosmo EBM-Electro made in Italy, una confutazione dell’eterno complesso xenofilo italiota, e vuole presentare alcune tra le realtà più interessanti e promettenti del panorama italiano – non solo agli aficionados del genere – ma anche e soprattutto alle nuove leve, in Italia e all’estero.
In questo spirito, la compilation presenta brani di bands già affermate (Syrian, XP8, Blank, Dope Stars, Inc.) così come di band giovani e promettenti (che meritano di essere ascoltate, apprezzate e supportate attraverso l’acquisto dei loro dischi e l’affollamento dei loro concerti.
