Biography
Squarehead – the new solo electronic project of Sebastian R. Komor brings together a modern mix of Hard Techno, EBM and Nu-Industrial. As a songwriter, producer and remixer best known for his work in Icon of Coil, Zombie Girl and Moonitor, Sebastian is using Squarehead to transcend boundaries of traditional EBM & Industrial and pushing the envelope with his signature sound.
Sebastian, laid roots into the electronic world in the late 80’s when he acquired an Atari 1040 and was introduced to the world of MIDI. In the early 90’s, Sebastian had found a dirtier, more aggressive style of electronic music with artist like Prodigy, Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, and Frontline Assembly coming to the forefront. By the mid 90’s, Sebastian was writing tracks for his techno project Sector9, and in 1997 started the band Icon of Coil with vocalist Andy (Combichrist). Icon of Coil was soon signed to Tatra Records in Norway, and released the single “Shallow Nation” selling thousands of copies within the first few weeks.
After Icon of Coil’s full-length album “Serenity Is The Devil” Sebastian, began remixing other artist’s material. He quickly put his edgy spin on club favorites such as Apoptygma Berzerk, Theater Of Tragedy, VNV Nation as well as a hit remix for the KMFDM’s song “You’re No Good." To date, Sebastian has also done world-class remixes for artists Alphaville, Celldweller, Front Line Assembly, & Juno Reactor.
In late ’07, Sebastian was recognized and hand-picked for his remix entry in the FiXT Remix competition for Celldweller and brought him to the attention of FiXT Music. Shortly after, Sebastian took the Squarehead project to FiXT, a U.S. based independent record label, owned and operated by Klayton of Celldweller.
The debut Squarehead album features guest vocals by Klayton of Celldweller and Renee from Zombie Girl.
Determined to overload musical circuits, Squarehead is ready to plug listeners worldwide into his voltage-controlled music.
