Press Release What makes you bleed? In 2007, Daniel Graves released the album Blood Spills Not Far from the Wound under the moniker “Necessary Response”. It was a collection of songs originally intended for release on Close to Human, the debut “Aesthetic Perfection” album, but their less aggressive nature lead to their removal. At the time, his European label felt that Aesthetic Perfection should be a strictly “aggrotech” act and not confuse the scene with such a varied and dynamic record. Young and impressionable, Graves relented and allowed the label to split the band in two leading to the creation of “Necessary Response”. After one record, Daniel declared the project dead and focused entirely on Aesthetic Perfection. After nearly a decade of bitterness and regret towards what he viewed as a desecration of his artistic vision, renewed interest in the project lead Daniel to resurrect the long defunct project for a one-off concert in his hometown of Los Angeles. To prepare for the show, each song was deconstructed and rebuilt, track by track using the original recordings. Every effort was taken to stay true to the original versions while improving the sonic quality. To Daniel’s surprise, the process softened him on the album and he saw his bitterness towards it wane. He found himself excited by the prospect of taking the record back and releasing it on his own terms. “Necessary Response” was indeed dead, but only in name, the songs could survive and continue on as Aesthetic Perfection, as it had always been intended. Blood Spills Not Far from the Wound is back from the dead! Revived with newly recorded vocals, and new artwork. Remixed, re-mastered, and lead by the unreleased B-Side “Never Enough”. Also features a piano rework of “Devotion” with Lauren Krothe (as heard on Imperfect and the title track from All Beauty Destro...

Press Release On August 31st, 2013, Aesthetic Perfection’s Daniel Graves did something never imagined possible: He played an entirely acoustic concert as Aesthetic Perfection. Pulling it off took a year of planning, months of preparation and weeks of rehearsal. Even then, nothing was perfect. How could it be? No computers, no backing tracks, nothing but what each musician brought with them to the stage. For this special live show, Aesthetic Perfection’s music was presented by a band comprised of Daniel Graves on vocals, Lauren Krothe on piano and backing vocals, Marquis Howell III on upright bass, Tim Van Horn on drums, and Tim Skold on acoustic guitar. Recorded at Complex in Glendale California, a venue renowned for its incredible sound system and intimate concert experience. Graves said of the experience “I was more musically vulnerable than I had ever been before. The whole experience taught me that it’s ok to be vulnerable, it’s ok to be flawed, it’s ok to make mistakes, it’s ok to relinquish control and put your trust in others. Though much of this has been part of the Aesthetic Perfection “philosophy” since Day 1, putting that into practice is easier said than done. As a self confessed control freak, it pushed me to the brink of madness. Now that all is said and done, I’m not stressed anymore. I’m just proud of what my friends and I accomplished, and I’m grateful to them for their hard work and creativity that made my vision come to life. I’m grateful to the fans who came and showed their support for an utterly absurd idea: An acoustic “industrial” show. And now, I’m excited that I can share this little piece of A...

Press Release Aesthetic Perfection’s Daniel Graves is not one to allow himself or his music to stagnate. Every release has shown an artistic growth and a fearless approach to songwriting. The result is something all too rare in music, where an artist has developed a unique, recognizable sound, without falling into the trappings of clichéd formulaic songwriting. On the new album, ‘Til Death, we find an act exploring the artistic freedom that comes with no longer being willing to answer to anyone but himself. Leading up to this new record, we saw the release of three drastically different singles, "Antibody," "The Dark Half," and "Big Bad Wolf". In true AP fashion, taken individually, none of the singles give the listener more than an inkling of what to expect from the full LP. But when taken as a whole, the three singles encapsulate the essence of what to expect from ‘Til Death. Beautiful, haunting and eclectic. Whether it be the IAMX-tinged swagger of "Showtime," the eerie, almost Depeche Mode vocal patterns of "Lovesick" or the hook-laden dark pop of "Oh, Gloria!," 'Til Death shows Graves at his diverse best.

"Inhuman" contains the single version of the title track, six floor-filling remixes (one from Combichrist, who Aesthetic Perfection have very successfully supported on their "Making Monsters" tour) and an exclusive track, making it not only an essential collector’s item for fans and a must-have for DJs but also the ideal appetizer for the infernal third album of the band, due for release in November.

Press Release Does hard Electro always have to follow along the same paths? No way! On their second album, Aesthetic Perfection effectively prove the contrary. “A Violent Emotion” is an aggressive floor shaker with searing shouts, deep bass beats and an absolutely infernal drive… but it is also so much more. Daniel Graves goes far beyond standard 4-to-the-floor-stompers and ever-similar Trance-licks, knowing full well that, just like any other kind of music, a hard inferno will profit from intelligent song writing, versatile sound design and a combination of different influences and that aggressive parts will hit you even more effectively when contrasted with catchy melodies. Hard club smashers meet EBM-sequencers, Synth Pop influences, heavy shuffling stompers and Electropunk. Graves is also not only a master at relentlessly aggressive shouts but has got a pretty impressive singing voice as well. He, thus, cunningly integrates melodic vocals parts into his sonic inferno, thus creating a sense of tension that few others in hard Electro can match - like the ominous calm before a devastating storm. It is rather clear that the lyrics on “A Violent Emotion” will not invoke any infantile “I am so evil!”-clichés, either, rather aiming at the personal realm … hitting it where it really hurts. The album contains the club hit “Pale” (from “Awake the Machines Vol. 6”) and was co-produced and mastered by Krischan J.E. Wesenberg (Rotersand.) This is intelligent hard stuff… violent AND emotional!
