Press Release Electronic worlds of sound find their acoustic home created by classical instruments. After traveling the world in electronic shape for years, eleven chosen ones will come to new life on “the Anatomy of Silence”, albeit in a completely new acoustic form. Welcome to the anatomy of silence. Thus, a new album will be released on 19th October 2012 to coincide with the new tour, and it will be completely different from anything the discography of Diary Of Dreams has ever included before. While the acoustic versions of many classic DOD songs have been favorites among the fans at concerts for many years, the concept was never captured on CD. Until now. A line-up reduced to drums, piano, acoustic guitars and bass, cello, double bass and vocals might sound basic or simple, but within the scope of these compositions, the instruments blend to create great depth and power. It carries a heaviness that feeds off the clear definition of the instruments but leaves enough space for the listener to lose himself hopelessly in music. With this space and atmosphere, these musical pieces sound like they are to be discovered for the first time, and yet, they sound familiar and close. Let us pause for a moment and venture on a new musical chapter. With “the Anatomy of Silence”, Diary of Dreams have managed once again to go their very own way, a way that is not only open to loyal companions but especially to those that enter the DOD world for the first time and are keen to discover it for themselves.
Press Release Now that the Dream Collector has been silent for nine years, it’s finally time for the second part of this legendary collection of rarities. The sequel in its elegant digipak doesn’t have to be shy about its contents, either: 15 songs with a total running time of more than 70 minutes lead us through a track listing that almost reads like a best of collection. From “Nigredo”, “MenschFeind”, “Nekrolog 43” and “(if)” to “Ego:X”, the Dream Collector II ties in seamlessly with its predecessor and therefore not only completes a fan’s CD collection – here, familiar sounds are to be discovered anew, and it’s surprising how engaging and fascinating such a collection can be. Press Release The last Diary of Dreams album “(if)” was kicked off by the impressive video to “the Wedding”, a clip which received more than 90, 000 clicks alone at Myspace. Against all expectations, the band has now decided to release a CD single off that album that follows a more conventional format; the chosen track is “King of Nowhere”. The band is well known for their habit to create something special and extraordinary from their musical travels, and thus it is no surprise to learn that Diary of Dreams have filmed another very lavish video clip which of course will also be included on this CD single. As usual, the images will polarize, inspire thoughts and discussions and will also show the depth and scrutiny the Diary of Dreams team commits to the artistic work. Apart from that, this rather extraordinarily compact single includes another clip, showing live footage of the title track, filmed at the four-week long tour through Russia the band did earlier this year. The audio material fascinates particularly because of the different versions, ranging from quiet and experimental to straight and rhythmic, and because of the straight-to-the-point production. Let’s all enjoy this unexpected gift – and wait and see which ideas Diary of Dreams have come up with for their video clip this time…
