Press Release After the chart success with “Surveillance Culture”, which climbed to number 2 on both the German DAC album charts and the new European Alternative Album Charts EAC, The Pain Machinery have just completed their upcoming longplayer “Restart”. The release of the first single “Running Red” is imminent. TPM have raised the bar another notch and reached new heights in terms of production. The sound is minimal yet powerful, retaining the same punk attitude with dirty sounds. As if that wasn’t enough, one track also features guest vocals from //TENSE// of Houston, Texas. Close to one hour of sexy acid/EBM beats.

Press Release Never ones to rest on their laurels, The Pain Machinery present the follow up to last year's critically acclaimed "Surveillance Culture". The new album "Restart" contains eight brand new tracks. More potent than ever before, the sound takes influences from classic UK synth punk, Chicago acid house and Belgian hardcore disco, combining them with a futuristic groove. This is music both for the mind and for the (darkest) dancefloors. The last record offered a savagely cynical take on social issues. This time the lyrics often focus on the personal, the result of a strenuous time for the band members. "We've both gone through some rough patches in the last years and a track like 'Damage' is reflective of that. 'Running Red' on the other hand is about smug do-gooders purporting to be the voice of reason when in fact they're often the most intolerant people around. We don't necessarily agree on politics within the band all of the time, but we share a dislike of hypocrites and obviously there's no shortage of those, whatever their political leanings." The Pain Machinery deploy classic hardware such as Sequential Circuits Pro One, Simmons electronic drums, Roland TR-606 as well as dysfunctional budget gear and scrap metal to produce their trademark hard rhythmic machine funk. This time, additional vocals come courtesy of Robert Lane of hotly tipped EBM sex beat operatives //TENSE//. "There Will be Blood" is laced with Robert's psychot...

Press Release ”Surveillance Culture” is the sixth studio album by Swedish electro punk powerhouse The Pain Machinery. It’s also their most daring and confident LP yet, combining retrofuturistic electronics, crisp danceable beats and assertive vocals that are more upfront than ever before. ”Surveillance Culture” is the first TPM album on the new Complete Control Productions label: ”It’s fantastic to finally be able to work with like-minded people and we have a lot of promising things up our sleeves. We’re heavily involved with the label and it’s definitely a long term commitment on our part. Watch out for lots more mayhem later in 2011!” Having experimented with samplers, synths and drum machines since the late 1980’s, Anders Karlsson released his first work as The Pain Machinery in 1992. The initial idea was to mix the raw energy of UK street punk and the sound exploring possibilities of electro/industrial music. Later joined by vocalist Jonas Hedberg, The Pain Machinery has continued to expand on their original formula through the years. The band, frequently described as the missing link between punk, house and Electronic Body Music, has gained a lasting reputation for their intense and physical live shows around Europe.
Press Release Since their last album “Urban Survival”, TPM have decided to embrace a more structured electronic sound with fewer building blocks but more punchiness: a compelling hybrid of early Electronic Body Music, New Beat and Acid House dragged kicking and screaming into the future. This change of approach is already reflected in “Auto Surveillance”, a collection of remixes from the forthcoming album “Surveillance Culture” due later in 2011. A diverse selection of artists (Necro Facility, The Weathermen, Severe Illusion and Jouni Ollila to name a few) have been given free rein to reshape three album tracks into everything from dark electro house to twisted rockabilly with amazing results. The first release on new label Complete Control Productions, “Auto Surveillance” also features two tracks (“Twilight” and “Exit Strategy”) which will not be included on the album. For all intents and purposes, this is three singles in one with a total playing time of almost 70 minutes. An extended burst of punishing beats and basslines, ready to rip the darkest of dancefloors to shreds.
Press Release After several years in the making, The Pain Machinery proudly present their fourth album Urban Survival. 14 tracks custom built to sweep the scum off the streets. This time, Anders Karlsson and long time partner in crime Jonas Hedberg have enlisted guest vocalist Jared Louche, the driving force behind the legendary Chemlab, to maximise the impact of their sonic assault. Urban Survival is an amalgamation of the band´s early hardcore rhythmic industrial noise and a new-found sense of cathchiness. Taking cues from their old-school influences like Cabaret Voltaire, SPK and Hunting Lodge without ever sounding like a retro act, TPM unleash a barrage of jackhammer beats, heavy-duty electronics and menacing vocals to hypnotising effect.
Press Release The Pain Machinery is BACK! Remix-EP from swedish industrial mayhem TPM includes 11 tracks in total duration more than 57 minutes, advertise the release of their new conceptual album "Urban Survival", featuring among others Chemlab's Jared Louche and scheduled for winter, 2010. EP combines electro punk with the old school EBM + noise, includes the alternative version of title track, done in german language and completed specially for german fans. One of remixes is also made with the participation Of Container 90. Having recently joined forces with Advoxya Records the new material sees TPM going in a more electronic direction while keeping the edge and aggression of their earlier work. The lead track, "Total Recall", is presented in a variety of mixes showcasing the band's ability to forge classic heavy-duty basslines, disciplined beats and commanding vocals into a sound that brings early EBM straight into the future.
