Press Release On his long player number four, Rummelsnuff’s eclectic genre mix is as versatile as ever to maximum effect: fragile ballads meet harsh walls of guitar, songs about remorseless battles go hand in hand with descriptions of unconditional humility – there is nary a human trait or emotion that this man cannot set to music and he has the talent for always finding adventurous new ways to draw the listener into his world. At the very core, Rummelsnuff makes music for men (…and sympathisers), though. No matter whether he tackles the ideal background music for heavy weight lifting, beer tents or bbq parties, songs about heavy stuff or bad eggs, about hard workers or underachievers, about animal role playing, true love or the raw ocean waters and the awakening Spring… in all of his songs a man can still unashamedly flaut his masculinity. This time around, the captain is joined by his regular crew of vocal mate Christian Asbach...
Press Release The undisputed patron of unbridled masculinity sets out to celebrate this year’s German Father’s Day in the best possible way: by releasing an exclusive digital only single! “Bratwurstzange” (=barbecue sausage tongs) commemorates masculine party culture with a heavy Electronic-Body-Polka (with the solid support of Eisenkumpel Häusi on testosterone-infused guest vocals and Christian Asbach as the whistling nightingale) that will not only get the male populace off their chairs. It goes without saying that real men do not use tongs for barbecuing sausages, anyhow. But that is pretty much unimportant, as this bulldozer of an earworm is a perfect anthem for alternative Father’s Day celebrations with lots of beer, dead animal on a spit and raw electronic sounds! The capt’n pitches in a b-side in form of “Minderleister”, a collaboration with Christof Kather from the legendary Grindcore band “Japanische Kampfhörspiele.” This is slightly more introverted and quiet fare that is the ideal cure for your next day hangover (and since the German word for hangover is “Kater”, a collaborator by the name of “Kather” does seem rather fitting.) “Bratwurstzange” is hitting all digital portals on May 3rd, 2013 and should be an integral part of any Father’s Day celebration!

Press Release “He did more for the emancipation of the male sex than anyone else”, a young enthusiast was heard to comment the oeuvre of musclebound captain Rummelsnuff, his tongue firmly in cheek. A tongue-in-cheek humor and inklings of self-irony are also trademarks of Rummelsnuff’s lyrics, set to his “derbe Strommusik” (=raw electric music.) Right on time for ascension day 2012, the traditional day for celebrating manhood in Germany, the charming strong man’s third opus will hit the shops. An album for men… and sympathizers. The album has been aptly titled “Himmelfahrt” (=ascension day) and is even more versatile than its predecessors… ranging from the Electro-Rockabilly-mix of “Türsteher”, the smashing electronic anthem to Berlin’s famous Berghain club “Machen wir den Tanz!”, the Electro-Punk of “Derbe Strommusik”, right down to unplugged bare bones Sea Shanties like “Trägt die Woge dein Boot”, that warm the heart with everyday stories and maritime metaphors. The album features collaborations with the Bolschewistische Kurkapelle Schwarz Rot, Patenbrigade Wolff, the captain’s long time companion Rajko Gohlke on guitar (now also in Knorkator) and the accordion virtuoso Butz. A one-off celebrates father’s day… music with muscles and heart!

Press Release Berlin-based muscle man Roger Baptist is Rummelsnuff, a combination of testosterone-laden body building aesthetics, brute maritime romanticism and comic-book-hero: a strange, yet fascinating icon that spawns a steadily growing fan base and has generated quite some buzz in the press. Two years after releasing his debut album, the captain is on the air again with 15 songs of even greater stylistic and instrumental variety than on his first outing. Be it the sad but beautiful shanty “Salzig schmeckt der Wind”, the synthetic rockabilly sound of “Donnerbolzen” or the rough electronic song culture of songs like “Eindruck schinden”, “Pumper” or “Winterlied”, Rummelsnuff is happily ignoring all standard genre boundaries while sporting a thoroughly identifiable and unique sound. Basing his music on a Minimal Electro foundation that he effectively garnishes with all sorts of sonic experiments, a healthy dose of weirdness and his trademark hoarse voice, Rummelsnuff is one of the most unique acts in German-language popular music. The pre-album-release digital single “Freier Fall”, for instance, sounds as if Max Schmeling, Tom Waits, Der Plan and Rammstein have sat together to record a collaborative song. “Sender Karlshorst” will be broadcasting its raw “Strom-Musik” on all frequencies from May 14th!
